Most men describe themselves as so by their age. When a boy becomes a young man, and then grows into an adult, he automatically considers himself a man. However, the degree to which he has integrated masculine energy into his life may say otherwise. He may be an adult, but that doesn’t mean he’s a Man.
There are generally two types of Men: Alpha and Beta. Alpha Males are dominant, assertive, go-getters, friendly, internally validated, non-reaction seeking, and non-needy. Beta Males are needy, soft, passive, “nice guy”, subservient, try-hard, and attention whores. Being a Man is a state of mind and level of maturity, not the age of a person.
A “grown boy” is a Beta male who is an adult. These “grown boys” generally seek approval from others, especially their peers. They try hard to receive attention from women and give in to a stronger Alpha male. Women do not respect these types of guys. You see them in bars and clubs always getting drunk and acting stupid. They are always the ones starting fights and become upset when women reject them.
Men are adult males who don’t try to be dominant: they already are. Men don’t seek respect or validation. They assume they already have it. Thus, they don’t behave like the attention whores you typically see in bar fights and raunchy club scenes. Though they are dominant and leading, they’re also friendly and socially savvy. They take action to get what they want, and are unaffected by the setbacks they may face. They take responsibility for their actions and can admit when they are wrong, and when they’re right. These are the men that women love.
